This is just terrible. Apparently, Facebook™ is going to be announcing an online music service on May 21st. Most of the respect I had for Facebook was because of the fact that they don’t follow every single trend and rip off every single feature from Myspace and other leading social networking websites. I fear that this music service will be the feature that ruins Facebook completely. I simply cannot see it being successful. It’s just my opinion.
However, if it takes the right approach (which is something I’ll probably talk about at a later date) for music services, it’s a won game for Facebook. My opinion is just that it’s too risky.
Just let it be known, Blabber will never stoop to the level of having to be the same as everything else. That’s the reason I started the site anyway; to migrate from the “social networking” frenzy, and still communicate with others. I hear people saying that Myspace is only good for advertising/promoting music groups. This is true, but those people have no idea that when they submit music to Myspace, it becomes their content. That’s a level I never want to even reach.
